hey friends, i wanted to let you know that i have safely arrived in africa. it's so funny because even though uganda is new to me, it is so familiar-- the red dirt, the thick diesel smell, the roosters that think morning is at 3am, the humidity, etc. i am currently residing in an 'apartment' a short walk from the baby home in kampala (baby bulrushes). there are 3 baby homes run by watoto in uganda. tomorrow I will be moving to a more permanent residence in suubi uganda to work in the baby home there. for now, i am orienting to the time zone (7-8hrs ahead) and playing with the babies at bulrushes. they are so adorable and it's fun to see their little personalities in the short time that i have been with them. they wasted no time to christen me with their babyness, but i never expected to be clean here! haha
the transition this time has been more difficult than previous african trips, but i think there is more spiritual warfare going on as well. i am excited to see what god has in store though and get settled in!!
